Direct Debit – FAQs
Q. Why are you switching to Direct Debit for subs payments?
A. Moving to payment by Direct Debit will simplify things for both the unit and parents/guardians. For the Unit we will not have to process cash each month and for parents/guardians it means that you do not have to worry about finding cash each parade night. This also brings us into line with other organisations.
Q. What happens when cadets do not attend due to holidays?
A. The monthly payment is based on a cadet attending for 45 weeks a year which is the average attendance over the year for cadet.
Q. Will we get a refund for non-attended parade nights?
A. The amount is based on the average attendance for a cadet and takes in to consideration non-attended parade nights. The subs payments does not just cover a parade night but also covers travel for competitions, subsidies for logbooks and certificates, fuel for boats and the costs with weekend and off parade night training.
Q. Do I have to sign up online – can I sign up by filling out a paper form?
A. No – the Direct Debits are managed by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Bank who provide banking facilities for charities. The only way of signing up for Direct Debit is online.
Q. What happens when a cadet decides to leave the unit?
A. You will be responsible for cancelling the Direct Debit and informing the Unit that you have done so.
